House in Santa Monica
Site: Roundabout in Santa Monica

Through the exploration of the city of Los Angeles, I looked for examples of form in objects, buildings, parts of buildings, or systems that are not typically considered to be architectural relevant form. I chose to focus on the stacked layers of the roof of a Taco Restaurant on South Hoover & Washington.
My analysis was based on angles of rotation from a central axis, that occur between the various stacked roofs. Overlapping data values were used to transform the object, which led to interesting interstitial spaces between the layers. This analysis then lead to designing a house that worked of the angles that were derived from the original feral figure
